Happy "Tequila Tuesday"!!!

It's been too long since the last posting, but due to JGT's weekend away with the family (which turned out to be pretty crazy) I haven't really been hanging out with him that much. We've had a couple of phone conversations, but nothing really to speak of. Oh yeah except yesterday he called me just to tell me that he was escorting Jay-Z to a show that very same evening. He asked me if I wanted him to give Jigga a copy of my demo, and I said "Of course." Then I realized that he didn't even have a copy, and he said he wouldn't even if he did which I totally understood.

Plus, Jay's having a party this Friday to celebrate his birthday. It's also for Kyle and Builder, his roomates at 186. I talked to Jay Monday morning about maybe helping him transport the kegs in my apple truck and he seemed genuinly happy that i offered so selflessly to lend a hand. I figured I'm not going to get him a present, and plus then I probably won't have to pay for a cup once the kegs are tapped. Definitely a winning situation all around. Friday's gonna be awesome.

A long time coming

I was hanging out with J Goodtimes today over at his apartment. I got there around 5:30, shortly after missing a phone call from JGT himself. Anyway, he buzzed me in and when I got upstairs he was kind of freaking out because there was this weird beeping sound in the kitchen. He couldn't figure out where it was coming from, and it seemed like it was really bugging him. So, I went into the kitchen and it seemed pretty clear that it was coming from outside the kitchen window, which was slightly open. I even opened the window all the way just to make sure, and then we both agreed it was definitely coming from outside.

I didn't really think it was a big deal that JGT didn't figure out where the beeping sound was coming from. He probably had a lot on his mind. And it sure looked like he was pretty busy when I got there.

Anyway, so we hung out for a little while and just sort of caught each other up on the events of the past few days. His weekend sounded awesome. He played this new Kasabian cd that he just got in the mail. I said that I really didn't like it that much, but when he said that he did I started thinking that maybe I was jumping to conclusions too quickly. Why am I so quick to judge?

After about a half an hour or so, J's roomate Kyle showed up with some cool chocolates that I think had weed in them. He had already eaten one, but he was nice enough to get extra. I ate mine up immediately and instantly commented on how good it tasted, even though Kyle said he wasn't so sure. J didn't even want his, which I totally understood because he had some work to do right in front of him and probably had some other stuff to do later on. Either way, Kyle and I split his up and the wait was on.

While J was hard at work in the kitchen, Kyle and I decided to watch a movie. Once we finally got the DVD player to work we put in Neil Young's concert movie Rust Never Sleeps. I made sure to turn it up extra loud, partially because of my steadily growing hearing loss, but also because I figured if it was loud enough, J might be able to hear it in the kitchen and maybe he would enjoy listening to it while he worked. He was probably focusing pretty intently on whatever he was doing though. Probably too much to even notice.

After the movie was done, Kyle and I went into his room and listened to a few songs by The Big Sleep. Kyle decided that this would be a good time to turn on the I Tunes visualizer. It probably had something to do with the loud spacey music, or the chocolates, or the knifers, but I was entranced. And then, right when the song was starting to get really intense, J stepped into the doorway of Kyle's room and said, "Stoney Baloney!" I thought it was really funny, but then I felt kind of bad for being such a typical pot head. But I don't think he was really trying to insult me. He's been there before. He's been everywhere.

Then J took a huge crap (finishing his work on his laptop in the process, no less), told me how to set up this blog, and left the apartment for some sort of meeting or show I'm sure.
